Picking a spot for your photos should feel fun, not stressful! This guide is here to help you find a place that fits your vibe— whether that’s a big open field, a cool downtown corner, or a place with great sunset light.

Washington State Capital Building

Best for: Classic, elegant + architectural vibes


Perfect if you love beautiful architecture, grand staircases, gardens, and a more timeless, sophisticated feel.


Millersylvania State Park

Best for: Forest, camp + lake vibes


A beautiful mix of tall trees, wooded areas, and lake views for a cozy, outdoorsy feel.


Tolmie State Park

Best for: Private beach vibes and GREAT lighting


Perfect if you love water, pebbled/sandy shorelines, trees, and that classic Pacific Northwest feel.


Squaxin Park (Previously Priest Point Park)

Best for: Moody PNW beach vibes


Perfect if you love water, muddy shorelines, trees, and that classic Pacific Northwest feel.


Burfoot Park

Best for: Coastal cliffs and casual park vibes


Perfect if you love dramatic cliffs, rocky shorelines, and casual green parks. The beach can be very windy!


Olympia Park

Perfect if you love wide-open grassy fields with a variety of different trees lining the landscape. They do periodically mow the grass.

Best for: Waterfront + boat vibes

Perfect if you love marina vibes, city scenery, and a mix of natural and urban backgrounds.


Pioneer Park

Best for: Tall grassy fields (flowers in the summer), tree-lined walkways + river views


This spot has a little bit of everything, with tall grassy fields, tree-lined paths, and photos along the river.


Nisqually Wildlife Refuge

Best for: Natural, country+ wildlife vibes

Perfect if you love wide-open landscapes, tall grasses, and old barns.


Tumwater Falls

Best for: Fall colors, forest + water vibes


Wooded paths, greenery, and the river make this a great option if you want a cozy, nature-filled session. Especially beautiful in the fall when the trees are full of color.


Downtown Olympia

Best for: Urban, colorful + candid vibes

Perfect if you love a more urban feel with local shops, buildings, streets, and plenty of little spots for candid, everyday-feeling photos.


Point West Studio ($60/hour rental fee)

Best for: Clean, modern + timeless vibes or getting creative!
